2018 BMW M5 All-Wheel Drive Performance
Drivers of the new 2018 BMW M5 will be able to enjoy responsive and controllable handling with the M xDrive system on the BMW M5. Thanks to DSC (Dynamic System Control) and the M xDrive system, this sedan can offer drivers a choice between five different driving configurations. Drivers will be able to enjoy four-wheel drive, a four-wheel drive sport-optimized mode, and two-wheel drive. Other unique performance settings will also be available.
Powertrain on the 2018 BMW M5
The drive settings (which include structural advantages as well as advanced software) will complement the bold powertrain standard on the 2018 BMW M5. The engine will be a turbocharged V-8 engine featuring M TwinPower Turbo technology. Mated to an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, this powertrain should be able to crank out approximately 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Even more startling is that this powerhouse vehicle should also be able to deliver a combined city and highway mileage of 26.9 mpg.
More Power Than the 2017 Model
These numbers are bold in and of themselves, but they are also a significant jump in engine output when compared to the 2017 BMW M550i xDrive sedan currently on the road.
Since the first BMW M5 concept launched in 1984, this model has been turning heads on the highway and on the track. Keep watching this blog to learn more about this model and other BMW vehicles.
