What is the Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan?

The Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan is a new compact car with a unique, bold look. Designed to deliver a coupe-like look with the convenience of a four-door sedan, this model is just 179.9 inches long, 73.6 inches wide, and 57.6 inches tall. (For comparison, the current 2017  S-Class is approximately 201.41 inches long and 58.89 inches tall).

The Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan has 20-inch wheels, door handles flush with the body of the car, and a confident Panamericana grille featuring a central star and vertical chrome inserts. A lower air inlet features a diamon grid structure and bold trim. All of this is very cool, but the new headlights are one of the most striking features of this new model.

Concept A Unique Headlights

The headlights on the Mercedes-Benz Concept A are not just attractive, but offer unique color-changing technology. They have a grille-like structure coated in UV paint. When exposed to ultraviolet light (as they always are) they will glow in different colors depending on the ambient light. For example, the daytime running lights are white, while most of the images have them appearing almost purple.

We aren’t sure at this point if the Concept A will become a new body style for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, or transform into some other vehicle. Either way, there will probably be a significant wait before we see these on the road.
