What Is Mercedes-Benz AMG?
Mercedes-Benz AMG® vehicles (officially “Mercedes-AMG®”) are an elite line of Mercedes-Benz based models that deliver track-worthy horsepower and handling. While body styles and general capabilities are tied to other Mercedes-Benz vehicles (like the C-Class or GLE) these models represent a significant step up when it comes to power output. Many models also represent an elite level of craftsmanship, thanks to handmade engines.

AMG 43 vs AMG 63
There are two essential types of Mercedes-AMG® vehicles. Any model with a “43” in its name represents an elite version of the vehicle. In this example, a 2017 Mercedes-AMG® E 43 is a high-powered variation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan that will offer stunning horsepower and torque. However, any model with “63” in its name (for example, the 2017 Mercedes-AMG® E 63 S) not only offers top power, but also boasts a handmade engine. This means an engine that has been assembled by a single craftsman to deliver premium power and performance. AMG® models with “65” or “45” in their name also have a handmade engine.
